Alliance Atlantis Launches blogTV.ca
The Next Step in Social Media
December 5, 2006

Beta launch empowers Canadians to broadcast LIVE over the internet

Toronto, ON (December 5, 2006) – Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc. announced today that in partnership with GS New Media, a global entertainment distribution company, it has launched blogTV.ca, a user-generated content website that enables individuals with a webcam to broadcast LIVE over the internet. This initial website beta launch is the first of many planned milestones for blogTV.ca.

blogTV was first introduced in 2004 by Tapuz, a publicly-listed Israeli company based in Tel Aviv, specializing in communities, blogs and chats. blogTV is the next step in social media as it empowers users to broadcast LIVE video shows 24 hours a day as well as record and save their LIVE shows. On blogTV.ca, Canadians are now free to showcase their talents as broadcasters, or watch and interact with other users as they broadcast.

All blogTV.ca content will be moderated 24/7, and is available only to Canadian internet users.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with GS to introduce the first video blogging network operated by and for Canadians,” said Claude Galipeau, Senior Vice President of Digital Media for Alliance Atlantis. “blogTV.ca fits perfectly into our ongoing strategy of targeting niche audiences and taps into the growing phenomenon of user-generated content. We are delighted to be bringing this breakthrough platform to users in Canada.”

“We are pleased to partner with Alliance Atlantis in what will be the next step in user-generated content and the first installation of blogTV in North America,” said Shemi Levi, Chief Executive Officer, GS New Media. “blogTV.ca refines user-generated content while expanding a world of programming choices for online audiences.”

The beta launch can be found live at www.blogtv.ca. Upon entering the site, users can create an account and start broadcasting LIVE. Users are encouraged to provide feedback and ideas for improvement during the beta phase.
