| Quebec Government Agency CSST Taps Loran Technologies and Unisys for Key Technology in Initiative to Enhance Workers' Compensation System |

Unisys ES7000/one Enterprise Servers Are a Key Component of Modernized Application Infrastructure to Enhance Operations and Citizen Service
QUEBEC CITY, May 16 /CNW/ - Canada's Quebec Commission de la Sante et Securite au Travail (CSST), working through its project implementer, has selected Loran Technologies and Loran's partner Unisys Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary of Unisys Corporation (NYSE:UIS), as one of the key technology providers in its plan to streamline adjudication and management of workers' compensation claims. CSST is Quebec province's Commission of Occupational Health, or Workers' Compensation Board.
CSST is modernizing its application environment and has selected Quebec-based Loran Technologies and Unisys to provide it with Unisys ES7000/one Enterprise Servers and related implementation services. CSST is capitalizing on the power and efficiency of the Unisys ES7000/one Enterprise Servers as it evolves toward a real-time infrastructure, in which key business processes directly drive the allocation of computing resources to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.
Quebec CSST provides services to some 3.3 million workers, processing nearly 300,000 workers' compensation claims per year, and having a reliable, secure IT infrastructure is critical to their mission. After an extensive pilot project where performance and functional testing were conducted, it was determined that the Unisys ES7000/one servers would enable CSST to confidently meet their infrastructure stability, availability and performance objectives.
A key part of the engagement is Loran Technologies expertise in Microsoft solutions coupled with Unisys hardware and installation services. The solution for CSST includes 10 Unisys ES7000/one Enterprise Servers running the Microsoft Windows Datacenter Server operating environment. The enterprise servers power the Oracle/Siebel application that CSST will use for claims adjudication and management, from origination through payment.
The ES7000/one servers employ both Intel Xeon and Itanium processors, enabling CSST to exploit each to best advantage - the Xeon for high application performance and the Itanium for large database queries. The scale-up capabilities of the ES7000/one enable significantly increased performance with the addition of each multi-core processor increment while simplifying management of the multiprocessor environment.
"Our work with Quebec CSST demonstrates how Unisys expertise in enterprise computing technology and solution delivery can enhance the business of government for our clients," said Bob Binns, president and CEO, Unisys Canada. "Unisys is confident that our advanced ES7000/one solution will deliver long-term benefits for CSST and the citizens of Quebec."
Jacques Robillard, president, Loran Technologies, added, "Using the Unisys ES7000/one gives Loran Technologies new and powerful opportunities to expand the range of solutions we can provide to business and government in Quebec."
