"The Search" is complete!
(Toronto, ON, May 9, 2008) – After an extensive search – Canada's Next Top Mobile Phone Photographer of the year, 2008 has been discovered.
The winning photo was captured by Snezhana Zahorulko of Burnaby, B.C. who made the most of her newly acquired Sony Ericsson K850i Cyber-shot™ 5 megapixel camera phone.
Snezhana's breath-taking imagebeat out seven other semi-finalists who were tasked with capturing a moment in time. The creative shot of a child holding the sun in the palm of her hand netted Shezhana a dream vacation package valued at $10,000 – where she will no doubt be able to capture even more captivating images.
"I was admiring the pretty view in Victoria and it just struck me," Shezhana explains as the inspiration for her winning shot. "Now that I've won I am planning on taking a trip across Europe to see what inspires me next."
The grand prize challenge was judged by a panel of celebrity judges including Canadian Idol winner Brian Melo, Techno Blogger Amber MacCarthur and legendary Canadian photographer Peter Burian.
"The Search" for Canada's Next Mobile Phone Photographer, 2008 was sponsored by Sony Ericsson Canada in conjunction with the launch of Sony Ericsson's K850i Cyber-shot™ 5 megapixel camera phone.
"The quality of the pictures submitted by the semi-finalists made the task of selecting the winning photo a difficult one," says Michelle Digulla, General Manager for Sony Ericsson Canada. "Congratulations to all those who participated!"
