Q9 helps power CanadaHelps.org to more than $57 million in online charity donations April 29, 2008
Reliability is critical for charity portal

TORONTO, April 29 /CNW/ - As Canadians rush to file their tax returns and claim their charitable donations for 2007, Q9 Networks Inc. (TSX:Q) is pleased to announce that, since December 2001, the CanadaHelps.org portal has been hosted at a Q9 data centre, enabling donors to securely and reliably make online donations to all 83,000 registered Canadian charities. More than $57 million in donations have flowed through the Web portal since its creation, with an annual growth rate of 50%.

For charities, CanadaHelps.org provides a cost effective alternative to setting up individual online donation facilities. For donors, CanadaHelps.org simplifies the donating process by allowing donors to go online, select as many charities as they wish, make a donation and immediately receive a tax receipt for each donation.

"With 7% of our yearly donations being made on December 31st alone and 50% of our total volume in the month of December, reliability is absolutely critical," said CanadaHelps.org Executive Director, Owen Charters. "In more than six years, we've never had an issue with the services so generously provided by Q9. Q9 has made a significant contribution to the thousands of charities and donors that depend on CanadaHelps.org to facilitate donations."

Q9 designs, builds and operates its data centres to meet the most demanding IT infrastructure requirements, including the increased power and cooling demands of today's high density computing devices. Customers connect to the Internet via Q9's unique network and are protected by Q9's 100 percent, SLA-backed uptime guarantees on both power and network availability. Customer equipment and data centre environmental parameters are monitored 7x24 by Q9's Control Centre, staffed by experts versed in all aspects of IT and facilities management.

"We are proud to have supported CanadaHelps.org and to have facilitated its substantial growth," said Osama Arafat, CEO, Q9 Networks. "CanadaHelps offers a valuable service to both donors and charities and we look forward to providing them with our continued assistance in support of charitable giving in Canada."
