Shopster Expects Similar Increase in Numbers for 2008

NEW YORK, February 28, 2008 – Shopster (www.shopster.com), the evolution of online retail, announced today that that it saw a huge growth in product sales up 316% from 2006 to 2007.

An estimated 87% of online shoppers visit multiple sites before making a purchase, according to a recent study by JupiterResearch. This means, consumers are spending more time comparison shopping seeking out niche stores which Shopster can attribute to their large growth. In addition, Amazon has held on to its 8-10 percent market cap since 2001 growing essentially on pace with the market with estimated sales of $10.7Billion (8.21% market share for 2006), $8.5Billion (8.14% for 2005) and $6.9Billion (8.32% for 2004). The fact that the market cap is staying fixed according to Samarasekera highlights that it is the small e-tailers that are pacing the marketplace and are thriving online.
