Palm Pre
Last year at CES 2009, the Palm Pre smartphone created a lot of buzz as a potential iPhone competitor. The Pre went on sale in the beginning of June and later that month the iPhone 3G S went on sale which addressed a lot of complaints about the iPhone. One year after the Pre announcement at CES, Palm Pre apps are lacking and Palm announced a losing quarter.

World's Thinnest TVs
Last year Samsung Electronics showed off an LCD TV that was 6.5 mm thick. The edge-lit LED backlight helped make this TV as thin as it was. We're pretty sure this TV is not available to the general public but Samsung does sell a line of 1.2 inch (30mm) thick LCD TVs including the UN55B600. A year later edge-lit LED backlighting is a common feature in higher end LCD TVs. Recently LG showed a 42-inch LCD TV that was only 2.6 mm thick.

World's Biggest TV Last Year
Panasonic boasted of having the largest Plasma TV at 150 inches. People theorized it would cost about $100,000. We haven't seen this TV for sale anywhere but you may be able to find the 103-inch Panasonic TH-103PF10UK for sale for about $41,000.

The Biggest LCD TV
Sharp took bragging rights for the largest LCD TV at 108 inches last year. The Sharp TV featured Sharp's Advanced Super View LCD Panel. You can buy the Sharp LB-1085 right now for a mere $112,000.

OLED TVs
Last year everyone raved about the brilliance of colors, brightness, and thickness of Sony's OLED TVs. Sony said they were going to offer the 11 inch XEL-1 OLED for around $2,000 and you can buy one now for around that price. This year Sony is rumored to have another OLED TV to show called the Sony KDL-ZX 27-inch OLED TV. Meanwhile LG which just acquired the OLED division of Kodak and recently launched a 15-inch OLED TV.

Schwinn Tailwind eBike
At one of the press events at last year's CES, Schwinn was offering test rides around the ballroom. The Tailwind is now on sale for a rather pricey $3,200. Reviewers have positive things to say about this pedal-assist eBike but comments indicate the public may be more likely to spend their money on a moped or even a Tata Nano.

Two Cool Video Phones
The press picked out two web-based conference phones that looked promising, the iRiver Wave-Home and Touch Revolution NIMble Home Phone. It looks like the iRiver Wave-Home might be available to Korean Telecom subscribers but we couldn't find any mention of it on the iRiver US site. It also looks like the NIMble Concept Desk Phone is still in the concept phase.

iHome iP1 Speaker Dock
It wasn't shipping at last year's CES but you can now buy this cool looking iPod/iPhone speaker dock for around $250 on Amazon. It incorporates digital signal processing technology by Bongiovi Associates and reviewers seem to like it.
