Times are good for Canadian tech professionals looking for a new job, according to numbers from CATAAlliance and Monster Canada.
The Advanced Technology Employment Index climbed seven points in November. The Index is based on data from Monster.ca and other Canadian recruitment Web sites believed to be representative of employer on-line hiring activity nationwide.
“With 32 points above its twelve month baseline average, the Index now stands at 132, exhibiting its all-time high. The index is up 32 per cent, on a year over year basis,” said CATAAlliance president John Reid.
“The labour market in Canada is healthy. Indeed, employers are very active in their hiring efforts; we expect continued business expansion…into 2007.”
The Engineering category registered the strongest rate of increase in November, followed by Healthcare and Information Technology. Online job demand for workers in Science, Electronics, Computer Services, Aerospace, Aviation and Defense, Environmental Services and Research and Development, also rose.
Mobile data and voice are great, as long as the signal is strong. And while mobile networks are pretty good these days, road warriors quickly discover that dead zones still exist.
