Wi-fi Pics November 10, 2005

By Peter Wolchak

Nikon CoolPix P1
There isn’t that much excitement in the world of digital cameras anymore: one unit has more or less storage, a fraction more or less resolution, but they are all pretty similar.

That cannot be said about the P1. While it offers all the necessary features — 8.0 megapixels, a 3.5x zoom, numerous shooting modes — it also boasts on-board Wi-Fi connectivity. That means users can send pictures directly from the camera to a computer or printer. The P1 costs $649.95. There is also a P2, which has Wi-Fi but slightly lower spec numbers, for $529.95.
