MP3 Family November 10, 2005

 By Peter Wolchak

SanDisk e100 MP3 player, Car Transmitter and Speaker Dock

What makes an MP3 player these days is often the accessories; if you like the player you’ll want to expand it. One reason Apple’s iPod is so popular is the reported 1,000 accessories now available for it.

So SanDisk competes in this crowded market with a family of products. The e100 player is small and easy to use, and offers an FM radio, voice recording and can pull double-duty as a USB storage device. It retails for $179 for the 512MB version and $239 for 1GB. You can then play your tunes over your car’s FM radio with the transmitter for $71 or fit it into the speaker dock for $95.
