Socket Communications SDIO 56K Modem Card

Pocket PC owners without an available Wi-fi or high-speed link can turn to this modem card to get connected. Slide the card into the SD slot of your handheld and plug into a phone line and you’re off to the Internet. Travellers may find this device especially useful.

The vendor claims its compression technology allows the modem to run 20 to 40 per cent faster than competing units. It costs US$119.
