Widescreen portability   |  May 2, 2005

Fujitsu Lifebook P7010D
The Lifebook is one of the smallest here, and that’s good and bad — but mostly good. Its length and width are less than a

standard pad of paper and at 3.3lbs. it’s easy to carry around. It’s also one of only three units here with an onboard

optical drive. The drive can be replaced with a placeholder module, dropping the weight to 3lbs. The Lifebook also sports

a fingerprint reader for added security and a CF card reader.

However, some will find the 10.6-inch widescreen monitor a little small for regular work. The P7010D has a solid feel,

802.11a/ g Wi-Fi (better for streaming video than the typical 802.11b/g) and will impress coworkers.

It lists for $2,629.
