New Schooling Supplement: e-Learning

As the world’s largest independent IT education company, Global Knowledge is dedicated to helping IT professionals master technology so they can excel in their careers and benefit their companies.

Founded in 1995, Global Knowledge offers more than 700 courses in more than 60 international locations. The company employs more than 1,600 people worldwide, and each year trains more than 300,000 students. Ottawa-based Global Knowledge Canada has trained 150,000 students across the country.

One of the company’s biggest benefits is its Blended Learning Solutions™ approach, which allows students to learn in a variety of formats. Traditional classroom courses are offered, in addition to “e-learning” formats.
These include self-paced instruction, where students access course material over the Internet on their own time.

In addition, “virtual learning” courses provide live classroom teaching over the Internet. Students can participate in these courses from any location, and listen to the instructor and other classmates in real time.

“Few companies are able to provide both types of learning,” says Richard Gordon, vice-president and managing director of Global Knowledge Canada. “As a leader in corporate IT training, we bring our customers a full solution.”

And the customers have found this approach invaluable. In Canada, 99.2 per cent of students said they would recommend Global Knowledge to others, and 98.8 per cent would take another course from the company.

Given such accolades, it’s not surprising that Global Knowledge has trained employees from many of Canada’s leading technology firms, including Telus, Bell Canada, Cisco Systems Canada, Nortel Networks and Aliant.
