Lexmark and Ipsos looked around the world to see which countries had the highest penetration of wireless networks, and then at who used wireless networks most often to work at home. It turns out Canada is somewhere in the middle of the global pack.
Eighteen countries were surveyed, spanning 9,000 tech-savvy home computer users. Ninety per cent said they believe wireless networks will be important to everyday life in their homes over the next five years, and 40 per cent already have Wi-Fi. Asked if wireless technology enables them to perform work-related activities in the home, 47 per cent of worldwide respondents with Wi-fi said yes, as per the chart above
Mobile data and voice are great, as long as the signal is strong. And while mobile networks are pretty good these days, road warriors quickly discover that dead zones still exist.
