Symantec’s 2009 Green IT Report finds senior-level IT executives showing significant interest in green strategies and solutions.

Ninety-seven per cent of respondents stated they are at least discussing a green IT strategy, while 45 per cent have already implemented one. Key drivers cited include reducing electricity consumption (90 per cent), reducing cooling costs (87 per cent) and corporate pressure to be green (86 per cent). In addition, 73 per cent expect to see an increase in green IT budgets, while 19 per cent expect increases of more than 10 per cent. The study included 1,052 respondents in the United States, Canada, France, Italy, the U.K., Brazil, Mexico, Australia, India, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, New Zealand and China.
