Latest Red Hot album came with iTunes goodies | July 6, 2006
Fans of the Red Hot Chili Peppers had to wait three years for a new album, but that wait ended with a good deal from Apple’s iTunes: order the music online before its release and receive a one-song download immediately and get some extra digital goodies on the day of release.
The deal, struck between Warner Bros. and Apple, offered Stadium Arcadium for US$19.90 along with a download of “Dani California,” an exclusive audio interview with the band, a video on the making of the single and a full colour digital booklet.
iTunes also sold Peppers’ concert tickets and a collection of the band’s music videos.
