Numbers from the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association highlight just how much Canadians love to text. According to the CWTA: Canadians sent 19.5 billion person-to-person text messages in Q2 2011, a growth of 8.3 per cent compared to Q1 2011; 6.6 billion person-to-person text messages were sent in June 2011 alone, an average of more than 220 million messages per day; and total text messages sent in 2010 numbered 56.4 billion, a 60 per cent increase over the 2009 total of 35.3 billion messages.
