Every year Google’s Zeitgeist (German for “the spirit of the times”) gives an aggregate look at the topics, people and events that were of most interest to Web surfers during the previous year. Pop culture is still king, with hot topics including the Twilight movies and the death of Michael Jackson, but tech is top of many minds, with Twitter and Facebook drawing lots of queries.
