People will buy convenience  |  November 20, 2008

When I was going through my MBA, we were studying entrepreneur and product development techniques. One of the things we were always looking for were products and services to make life easier. There are numerous examples for this holiday season.

One that caught my eye the other day was Schlage Link. It enables you to unlock your doors with a web site or a phone call and even receive text message alerts from the system about who is going in and out. You can set up codes by individual and track as well as control their access.

My wife's first question would deal with any wires. The network connection is wireless (z-wave), but if it is battery powered, it better have a way to let me know its status long before they run out.

Anyone seen any other products that radically improve convenience?
